ABOUT THE LOCATION AND ESTABLISHMENT
History of 210
210 Restaurant & Live Music Lounge, located at 210 Green Bay Road, in Highwood, Illinois has been a North Shore staple since 1949. Originally named the Mary Jane Lanes, then Minstrel’s Alley and then The Alley, the property has seen many changes over the years, with the latest incarnation being a chef-driven restaurant mash-up with live music and late night lounge.
Chef Jeff was just leaving an executive Chef position at Green Acre’s Country Club and Steve was running The Alley. The two came up with this concept and 210 was born.
Our bowling alley past explains the high ceilings, the perfect setup for a live music and private party venue, with clear site-lines from any place in the restaurant or bar.
Interestingly, during the 70’s, a night club promoter took over the space, covered the lanes like we have today, and called the club Minstrel’s Alley. Chicago-area and national touring musicians like The Ramones, Cheap Trick, Styx, and Jump in the Saddle Band used to play the club on a regular basis and the stories of great shows and great times are still told at the bar.
What 210 is all about now:
We offer a full chef-driven menu specializing in dry-rub ribs from our own barbecue pit, homemade soups and phenomenal desserts. Our bar features 6 taps and one of the largest bottled beer selection in the area. We have a professional sound system and offer the best live entertainment on the North Shore 5 nights a week.
Private Events at 210:
210 specializes in all types of private events, including corporate, team-building and networking events; weddings, bar and bat mitzvahs, holiday parties, bachelor parties, bachelorette parties, and class reunions.
Events range in size from 10 to 350 people. Our experienced staff will handle every detail so you can relax and enjoy your party.
